Art & Photography Department Plan of Action (School closure)

No KS3 sketchbooks will be allowed to go home. Students will have a choice to work either on the computer or on paper.

Year 7:

An independent project based on a selected artist (linking to current SOW - POP ART.)

The project consists of independent research. Written exercises and an artist study (practical.)

Resources: S.E.M.I writing frame. Project outline.

Year 8:

An independent project based on a selected artist (linking to current SOW - CUBISM.)

The project consists of independent research. Written exercises and an artist study (practical.)

Resources: S.E.M.I writing frame. Project outline.

KS4 and KS5: WILL TAKE THEIR SKETCHBOOKS HOME TO WORK INTO.

Year 10:

Students are currently working on their examination unit. They have already been given a step by step visual guide and task list to help support them with this unit. Students will continue to work through their booklets. This has already been emphasised with them if they are off school for any reason (sickness etc) that they need to meet the deadlines for each section regardless to ensure that they are ready for their 10 hour Art exam at the end of April.

Year 11 Photography:

Students are currently working on their examination unit. They have already been given a step by step visual guide and task list to help support them with this unit. Students will continue to work through their booklets. They have also already been provided with an analysis / technical vocabulary booklet to support their annotation. This has already been emphasised with them if they are off school for any reason (sickness etc) that they need to meet the deadlines for each section regardless to ensure that they are ready for their 10 hour Art exam at the end of April.

Year 12 / Year 13: Art & Photography:

Year 12 Art:

Will take their sketchbooks and materials needed to complete work at home.

They have started a new theme: "Environment." Individual feedback and plan of action / work will take place in tutorials next week (wk beginning 16th March) with subject teacher. This will be agreed with student / teacher and written in to their sketchbooks.

Year 12 Photography:

Will take their sketchbooks and materials needed to complete work at home.

New unit theme introduced this week: "Environment."

Students have been instructed to complete the following:

Mind map / Image collection / initial Photographer research in their sketchbooks.

(The following has been introduced to the students .)

Artist research: Davis Hockney and Photo Montage. Experimentation using own images (from previous project if can't shoot on location due to any travel restrictions etc) to create a series of own photo montages influenced by their research.
