Music Department Action Plan (School Closure)

Year 7 Music:

Year 7 work to include Riptide SOW listening and singing exercises, general music theory, knowledge organizer work, videos with questions, and practical music work. Also, independent case study on music artists/composer.

Year 8 Music:

Year 8 work to include samba worksheets, ukulele worksheets, listening exercises, singing tasks, knowledge organizer work, videos with questions, practical music work. Also, independent case study on music artists/composer.

Year 9 Music

Year 9 work to include Bandlab Free Composition coursework. Students to continue working online using cloud based software. Students have their own usernames and passwords, lesson by lesson targets, some general music theory, pop related, solo performance homework. Also, independent case study on music artists/composer.

Year 10 Music:

Year 10 work to include practical performance in preparation for exam (March), or written evaluation task if performance has already taken place. Students to prepare for upcoming unit by researching musical genres and styles such as Rock ā€˜nā€™ Roll, Blues, Rock, Pop, R&B, Hip-hop etc. Composition improvements and written task feedback acted upon.

Year 12/13 Music:

Year 12 & 13 work to include evaluation task if event already taken place. Live Music Performance evaluation too. Auditioning research task in preparation for Unit 365. Practical rehearsal (solo performance). Continue distance learning for Alex on assignments.
